Overview

The Inventory Management Specialist position is responsible for maintaining inventory at sufficient but lean levels. Also works with Sales and Marketing Department as a cross-function team to translate product/customer needs and direction into product definition, design and profitability.  The qualified individual will be responsible for monthly production plans by SKU, consistent with the capacity and sales forecast. The sales forecasts, new business opportunities, customer expectations, and internal supply constraints will be used to develop production plans, by month, for a rolling six-month period. The primary goal of the position is to reduce inventory to target levels while maintaining 100% SKU availability. 

Responsibilities

The Inventory Management Specialist will work to create, manage and execute initiatives related to the various inventory requirements of the company. Inventory Management Specialist reports directly to Naterra’s Controller.  The Inventory Management Specialist must coordinate resources, establish deadlines, and track the progress of projects until completion. Must be able to build working relationships with team members and vendors. The main focus will be reducing inventory to 8 weeks supply while maintaining 100% SKU availability to ensure that our inventory can handle day-to-day sales orders.

 

  • Maintain a rolling 6-month Master Production Plan for all SKUs. Master Production Plan considers overall inventory level targets, sales forecast and volatility, manufacturing lead times and supplier component purchases.
  • Perform monthly supply-demand analysis, identifying demand priorities and supply constraints in order to forecast inventory levels.
  • Accelerate priority projects to meet sales demands by coordinating with suppliers, sales team and operations team
  • Manage inbound transactions, including purchase orders, receipt of goods, and physical vs digital inventory reconciliation
  • Set up new items in inventory management system, including individual SKUs, kits, and marketing items
  • Ensure coordination with plant managers and co-pack facilities to execute Production Plan
  • Continuously improve forecasting techniques, method, and approach.
  • Evolve and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for demand planning and inventory management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Business/Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Computer Information Systems, Inventory/Supply Chain Management; or a Business degree with high level of experience will be considered
  • 1-3 Years of Electronic Data Interchange (“EDI”) and/or inventory management Experience and Essential Skills/Knowledge
  • Sound knowledge of inventory / supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning, demand, and replenishment processes
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to reason and influence at all levels
  • Strong communication, presentation, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage complexity and resolve conflicts that arise from balancing multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in MS office applications and must have strong excel skills
  • Knowledge and experience regarding cosmetics industry / products is a plus
